Can missionaries who are ordained pastors receive a housing allowance tax benefit overseas?

Yes. Ministers who are ordained pastors can receive the benefits of the Minister Housing Allowance (MHA). You need to ask your church to give you a letter of ordination and a letter that specifies the total amount of your MHA for the year. Please notice that the church’s elders have to give you a new MHA letter at the beginning of each calendar year. Give these documents to a certified CPA to process them. Please consult with your accountant before you do anything, our advice is not final.
