It feels that it take a while for me to receive notifications about donations made by checks.

When a church donats via checks, please keep these things in mind:

1) Many churches use their online bank services to issue their checks. Even that this is a great tool, it often takes a couple of days for the bank to actually mail the check. In average, it takes six business days for a check to leave the bank until we receive it. This has nothing to do with MQ; it is the procedure of the bank and USPS.

2) After we collect the checks from our mailbox, it takes about 24-48 hours for the bank to clear the checks. Clearing a check means that the bank verifies the check details, collects the money from the donor's bank account, and deposits it in Mission Quest's bank account. After the checks are cleared, we record them in our system, and you receive the notification.

3) Even that we collect checks every other day, we only process them once a week. In the last week of each month, we process checks twice (or sometimes three times) to be sure that missionaries receive all their checks for that month.

As you might already know, we suggest that missionaries ask their donors to either use our online Bank Account donation option and date it on the first day of the month, or to issue a regular paper check on the first day of the month.
